Matthew is known for his extensive experience and expertise, particularly with elite athletes. He earned his Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from Queen’s University in 2015, following a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Therapy (2013) and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology (2010), both from Concordia University. His career is highlighted by his tenure with the Montreal Canadiens. From 2017 to 2022, he served as a full-time physiotherapist and athletic therapist with the team, where he played a pivotal role in managing the health and performance of professional hockey players. His work involved not only treating injuries but also implementing preventive strategies and guiding athletes through the rigorous demands of their sport. Matthew has also worked with Gymnix/Gym Quebec and Gymnastics Canada, showcasing his versatility and deep understanding of athletic performance across various sports disciplines. Since 2022, Matthew has continued his work at Catalyst while also taking on a consultant role at The Shriners Hospital for Children, where he focuses on program development and community outreach. He remains dedicated to leading on-field return-to-sport sessions, helping athletes transition safely and effectively back to their sports, whether on the field, court, or ice. Matthew’s therapeutic approach combines manual therapy with exercise prescription, emphasizing general strengthening to support rehab-specific exercises.
